My
lovely sister-in-law won me this camera tote by
Jo Totes (though it appears to only be available in red now)! Not cluing me in, she entered a giveaway at
MCP Actions that I had also entered in order to double my chances of winning. I received it earlier this week (thanks SO much! :-)). It has adjustable padded dividers in it so that you can configure it to your specs. The thing about it is, I knew it would be big, but I was very surprised at how HUGE it was! Certainly not something I would want to carry in addition to a handbag. So I decided I would try to make a zipper clutch that could hold some of my handbag basics and then some, but would be compact enough to stow within the tote. The result: not exactly stylish enough to carry alone as a clutch, but it certainly serves its purpose! I still struggle with some of the elements of a zipper pouch, but I'm going to keep making them (and if need be, ripping out the zippers of sub-par completed ones to reuse) until I can really put together something super-polished.
ETA: I taught myself how to make a zipper pouch researching crafty blogs all over the 'net.
This tutorial is a pretty straightforward one.

Wow. Just wow. I see those cute little clutches that people are making and selling and they look so fabulous. I am clueless about where to even begin. I guess a sewing lesson would help. But YOU pulled that together very nicely! It looks great!!! I am so glad you made one and that it meets the need. Now I'm off to go eat a mini snickers. Because *that* is something I do know how to do. :)
