I didn't follow the Martha Stewart tutorial to a tee, but if I hadn't had that tute to guide me, I'd have never been able to make this on my own. It's about 90% Martha:
Hm. For some reason it looks Cookie-Monster-blue in this pic, but really the fleece is a dark navy.
The tute did not instruct me to do so, but I had read somewhere where zig-zag stitching would allow for more stretch, so that is how I stitched the cuff down. Note that I went all the way around the hat, and the end of my stitch actually met the start of my stitch, as shown here. You have no idea how proud I was, hee.
And here is the final product as shown on my reluctant model. I think it is fact and not opinion that there's nothing cuter in this world than a little toddler with his ears covered. Had his eyebrows been covered as well, I might have passed out from cuteness overload:
"This is the puddin' face that Mommy and Daddy fall victim to every night when I beg and plead for just *one more* bedtime story... you cannot resist the puddin' face..."
